POAG is happy to present Wonho Chung (Axis of Evil) to come on as a guest speaker!
Wonho Chung has become a household name and has managed to blend and integrate the best of the east, middle and west and we think its a great opportunity for him to tell his story.
A few things that you might have not known about Wonho
...1981 - Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Then moved to Jordan within the same year.
1987 - Attended Terra Sancta College.
1991 - Started playing table tennis (how stereotypical!)
1997 - Joined the National Jordanian Table Tennis team achieving a top 8 ranking nation wide.
1998 - Graduated from school, started taking music lessons (piano and vocal studies)
1999 - Attended the Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan and majored in Marketing.
2001 - Started doing theatre and singing. Subsequently performing with in comedy shows, with jazz quartets, choirs, musical theatre and performing with the National Music Conservatory as a solo singer.
2004 - Graduated from University, moved to Dubai and worked for and for PR agency as an Arabic Editor (the irony of my life)
2005 - Joined MBC Group as a producer
2007 - Joined Showtime Arabia, who in turn introduced me to the Axis of Evil comedy tour, then went on tour across the Middle East (it was the first time ever that I performed stand-up comedy).
2008 - the follow-up comedy documentary (The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour: 3 guys and Wonho) hit the screens, and within the same year became an award winning mini-series.
2008 - Hosted and performed at the biggest stand up comedy show in the region (back then) which was called (Friday Night Live - Minorities Rule) with 8 international comedians and a crowd of 2500 people.
2008 - Started hosting my own entertainment show "Showmemore" which talks about the latest series, movies, gossip and celebrity interviews.
2009 - Went to Hollywood during "Oscars" week to interview 30 stars from different shows like; Desperate Housewives, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, to name but a few.
2009 - Covered the (Just For Laughs comedy festival) and interviewed comedy heavy weights like Russell Peters, Aisha Tyler, Louis CK, Lewis Black and many more.
